I was in a serious accident 6/16/2023 while riding my bicycle west on Warner Ave in the city of Huntington Beach, CA. I had a 6 hour surgery the same day. My second day in the ICU an insurance adjuster called me. I was heavily medicated with pain medication. I suggested they should wait for me to get out of the hospital. I was in the ICU for 5 days. My injuries were a collapsed left lung, 9 broken ribs (8 on the left with 11 breaks and one on the right(one rib was shattered)), flail chest, fractured occipital vertebrae, left shoulder AC Joint Separation, concussion, facial cut over left eye, and numerous scrapes (road rash). Titanium plates were installed on 3 of my ribs. I have constant ringing in my ears. Bike Legal made a presentation at one of our Bike Club (OC Velo) Meetings. When I returned home from the hospital, with the assistance of my wife we called Bike Legal. Bike Legal took my case. Bike Legal made my life easy. I did not get any calls regarding my bills or insurance. Bike Legal handled everything. My bike was totaled. Sherri came by my house and took my bike to the bike shop for a replacement estimate. Back when I was more involved in the cycling scene I would see Bike Legal logos all over at cycling events and as sponsors. Never thought I’d need their service until I was involved in a bike accident. I was confused and scared because this had never happened to me before, but thankfully I knew to call them. And I’m glad I did. They were so helpful and knew what to say to reassure me that it was all going to be okay. I am thankful of their services.
